Title:  Needs and Wants
Annotation:
 In lesson one of the Identifying Natural and Man-Made Resources unit, students will discuss the terms needs and wants. During the discussion, they will generate a list of each. The students will review the list and think about the things they cannot live without. Using the list, students will cut out pictures of needs and wants and make a collage of each.
 
Title:  Identifying Natural and Man-Made Resources 
Annotation:  Lesson two of the Identifying Natural and Man-Made Resources unit introduces the terms natural and manmade resources. Reviewing needs and wants, students will determine which is natural and which is man-made. Students will identify and differentiate natural/man-made resources and list the characteristics of each. Finally, students will understand that it takes people at work to make natural resources into man-made resources.
 
Title:  Protect the Earth and Keep it Clean
Annotation:
  In lesson three of the Identifying Natural and Man-Made Resources unit, students will review the term pollution and discuss how pollution is harmful to the earth. During the discussion students will reflect on who and what can contribute to pollution. After the discussion, students will discuss the importance of reducing pollution and generate ideas for ways to do so. Finally, from these ideas, students will choose a service-learning project and complete it over a desired time period. (Environmental Education)
